In this season, I’am committed to positioning myself to be in a more intimate relationship with God and the Holy Spirit in order to develop my personal walk and be able to hear God more clearer. And to gain the confidence, strength and courage to carry out and accomplish the works He has placed in my hands so that I am able like Nehemiah to say “I’m doing a great work and I won’t come down.” This is my prayer and my desire.
1) Nehemiah had favor from God and the King, in addition, he was also dealing with time constraints (Neh 2:6 … so I set a time).
2) There comes a point in time when you have to refuse to entertain any distractions, family, friends, or enemies. This refusal could mean total withdrawal from social media, gatherings, etc. to be completely focused on God’s will and God’s timing.
3) When you’re doing God’s will, He will expose the enemy’s schemes and protect you from ambush.
1st I must acknowledge that GOD has call and chosen me for his purpose and plan that he may comply to what he have called me for.
I must recognize that’s his purpose is bigger then me and I shouldn’t let anyone, place or thing distract me from allowing God to complete his purpose for me in him.
Must seek God deeper that he can allow me to carry a burden and knowing how to travel that others can be delivered from his wisdom and knowledge that he gave me during the travailing time realize that the deeper I seek God the deepest the Revelations removing my mixed emotions toward what God has lead me to do.. having God’s Purpose and plan is assuring that I’m on the right track.
Nehemiah’s countenances change the heavy burden and instruction of the task he handles from the King’s point of view the King’s life was in Nehemiah’s hands and he knew he couldn’t be caught slipping on his post. Nehemiah knew without a doubt that he was a watchman on the wall not just for the nation but for the King as well. His cupbearing. One thing I know about a cupbearer is that you must be in a position to not only receive but to give as well. One thing about Nehemiah he knew the sound of the alarm when danger is near or it’s coming near.
I commit to not allowing difficult situations stop me from following through on obligations and commitments. I will exhibit the commitment by no allowing others negative talk, actions, or reactions stop me from being wholehearted in my commitment to the things of God. I will stop distancing myself from those that make me feel uncomfortable. It is time that I allow God’s light to shine through me. I just may be the only way they will begin to see the light. I will take advantage of opportunities to speak into their life. I will do so through sharing experiences and giving testimony to let them know that there is hope for them too. I will show them that I support them, no matter their situation. I will meet them right where they are. I will not say “I told you so” or be judgmental. Instead I will share my failures and shortcomings so that they will know that they too may recover and be made whole again. I will encourage them to focus on the solution, not the problem. I will stand up for them where support is needed. And I will assure them that whatever is discussed between the two of us will remain between the two of us.
I am inspired by reading Nehemiah’s approach to his burden. He was strategic in his prayer, in his visit with the king and those who were opposed to him. “I AM DOING A GREAT WORK AND WON’T COME DOWN TO ENTERTAIN THE ENEMY THIS SEASON.”
I too was put in a situation like Nehemiah to be obedient to carry out what God had assigned me to do. The more I advertised my nonprofit, SKIP (Save Kids of Incarcerated Parents), the more opposition I had from my church folk, teachers and administrators, and friend-enemies. This year will be 45 years and there have been times that I was on this journey all by myself. So, my commitment to tell the enemy, “I’m doing a great work and I won’t come down to entertain you this season!”
